Cryptohopper Will Never Call You — If Someone Does, It’s a Scam

At Cryptohopper, your security is our top priority. We want to make something very clear:

Cryptohopper will never call you. Ever.

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to work for Cryptohopper, asking you to invest, send crypto, or download a wallet — hang up immediately. It’s a scam.

The Scam: How It Works

Scammers often pose as trustworthy sources. One of the most recent cases we saw started with a fake news article on Facebook that seemed to come from a reliable outlet. From there, it escalated quickly:

  • The victim clicked through to what looked like a legitimate investment opportunity.

  • They were called by someone posing as a financial advisor.

  • During the call, the scammer led them to Cryptohopper’s real website to gain trust.

  • They were guided to deposit money and install a wallet like Atomic Wallet.

  • All the while, the scammer continued manipulating the conversation.

This kind of social engineering can feel convincing. These scammers are fast, well-prepared, and deliberately overwhelming.

The Red Flags to Watch Out For

  • Phone calls: We never offer phone support or investment advice.

  • Urgency: Scammers will push you to act quickly before you have time to think.

  • Untraceable wallets: Installing unfamiliar wallets at their request is a red flag.

  • Fake articles or ads: These often appear on social media with logos from reputable news sites.

What To Do If You Suspect a Scam

  • Stop communication immediately.

  • Never share your screen or download apps at someone else’s request.

  • Contact our support team via our official website.

  • Report the scam to local authorities and platforms like Facebook or Google where the ad appeared.

We’re Here to Help

In some cases, like the customer who inspired this blog post, we’ve gone the extra mile to support this user. But prevention is always better. Always think twice when someone contacts you. Also, read our other blog about securing your funds and spotting crpyto scams.

We’re constantly improving our systems to keep you safe, but the best defense starts with awareness. So please: stay skeptical, stay safe, and remember…

If someone calls you claiming to be from Cryptohopper — it’s not us.

Stay safe and keep hopping,

The Cryptohopper Team
