Kraken API Partner Program: xStocks, the asset class your users are already asking for
TL;DR
xStocks are tokenized U.S. equities, backed 1:1 by the underlying stock, available to partners through Kraken’s existing spot and futures APIs.
Partners can offer spot trading and perpetual futures (up to 20x leverage) on names like Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, SPYx, and QQQx, alongside crypto, with no new infrastructure or accounts required.
The Kraken API Partner Program pays lifetime commissions that scale as partner trading volume grows across crypto and tokenized equities.
The lines between crypto and traditional markets have been blurring for some time: Bitcoin ETF inflows, institutional desks trading both asset classes, a generation of traders who move fluidly between equities and crypto without thinking twice.

Kraken Pro fee tiers now reward what you hold, not just what you trade
TL;DR
Starting today, July 9, 2026, Kraken Pro fee tiers are based on the best of three measures: your spot trading volume, your futures trading volume, or your assets on platform (AOP).
Whichever measure qualifies you for the highest tier is the one that applies, and that tier sets your rate on both spot and futures.
AOP is assessed in real time, so eligible holdings can qualify you for a better tier even without recent trading activity.
No action is required. Your account moves to the correct tier automatically. Full thresholds and rates are below and on the fee schedule.
How your fee tier used to work
Fee tiers on Kraken Pro were set per product. Your spot tier was based only on your spot trading volume, and if you also traded futures, that tier was calculated separately, on its own volume. Holding a balance on the platform, without trading it, had no effect on either tier.
