Introducing Kraken’s Holiday Gift Flip: Turn your worst Christmas gift into Bitcoin

And it’s not just annoying, it’s expensive. Every year, billions of dollars are spent on festive gifts that are unused, unappreciated and ultimately forgotten.

This holiday season, Kraken is giving everyone the chance to flip that disappointment into something more exciting, and perhaps a bit more meaningful: Bitcoin.

Welcome to our Gift Flip, a community-driven holiday campaign that turns gift guilt into better gifts, all while having some fun.

How the Gift Flip works:

  1. After December 25, take a photo or record a video of your worst Christmas gift.
  2. Then, think of your funniest roast for your Christmas gift.
  3. Post your picture and roast on X, Instagram, TikTok or Reddit tagging #GiftFlip and @krakenfx.
  4. That’s it. You’re officially in the running to win Bitcoin, straight into your Kraken account.

Between December 26 and January 4, our team will be reviewing the submissions, selecting over 150 winners to receive a share of 5 bitcoins (about $500,000) in prizes. We’re also introducing a few special award categories, including Most Creative Roast, Most Random Roast, Rapid Roasts (the best one-liner roasts), and the coveted GOAT Roast.

Winners will be announced on January 5, and notified via direct message in the Kraken platform within seven days of the competition ending.

The worse your gift, and the funnier you are, the better your odds.

More ways to gift with Kraken

This holiday season, we’re going even further with rewards:

🎁 New to Kraken? If you sign up between December 8-24, verify your account, and trade $350, we’ll add a $50 Bitcoin bonus to your balance as a holiday gift.

💌 Already a Kraken customer? You’ll get a free $125 Bitcoin gift card to give to someone who isn’t on Kraken yet (but should be). This is our way of sharing the crypto spirit this holiday season, and helping more people to start their journey into the digital asset world.

🎉 And that’s not all: Eligible customers will enter into a trading lottery with a chance to win additional Bitcoin rewards (geographic restrictions apply).

So whether you’re flipping bad gifts, signing up for the first time, or inviting a friend or family member to join the crypto revolution, there’s something for everyone this season.

Why we’re giving the gift of Bitcoin

It’s simple. We believe in giving people more control over their financial future and having some fun along the way. Gift Flip is a lighthearted reminder that value is what you make of it, and even a bad gift can become an opportunity to find something better when you take the leap into crypto.

Because while the holidays are full of surprises, Bitcoin is one gift that keeps on giving.

Ready to flip your gift?

From December 26-January 4: Snap it. Roast it. Post it. Tag #GiftFlip on X, Instagram, TikTok or Reddit

We’ll be watching as we hand out around $500,000 in BTC, $50 signup bonuses, $125 referral rewards and a chance to win up to 3 BTC in our trading lottery this holiday season.

This year, don’t return or sell your bad gifts — flip them into Bitcoin.
