1. Do Kwon Extradition Sought by U.S., South Korea, Says Montenegro Justice Minister

The extradition of TerraForm Labs founder Do Kwon from Montenegro has been requested by both the U.S. and South Korea, Justice Minister Marko Kovac said at a press conference. Kwon was arrested at Podgorica airport last week. Extradition proceedings will take place only after a separate case for forgery of identification documents, Kovac said.

2. North Korean hackers using stolen crypto to mine more crypto via cloud services: Report

The North Korean cybercrime operator APT43 is using cloud computing to launder cryptocurrency, a report from cybersecurity service Mandiant has found. According to the researchers, the North Korean group uses “stolen crypto to mine for clean crypto.” Mandiant, a Google subsidiary, has been tracking the North Korean Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) group since 2018.

3. Bitcoin falls after CFTC sues crypto exchange Binance for allegedly breaking trading rules

Cryptocurrencies dropped on Monday morning after the CFTC sued Binance, the biggest crypto exchange in the world, for allegedly violating trading rules. In a court filing, the CFTC, or the Commodity Futures and Trading Commission, said Binance violated eight provisions of a commodities trading law “designed to prevent and detect money laundering and terrorism financing.”

4. Tested on Ethereum, StarkWare’s Zero-Knowledge Proofs Are Now Live on Bitcoin

The newly launched ZeroSync Association is bringing zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to Bitcoin (BTC), allowing users to validate the state of the network without the need to download hundreds of gigabytes of blockchain history or trusting a third party.

5. Arbitrum Shows Just How Messy (and Tricky) Crypto Airdrops Can Be

It’s been around a week since the Arbitrum airdrop, when the largest Ethereum layer 2 platform by transaction volume distributed its long-awaited governance token to community members. What’s clear by all accounts is that while users managed to successfully claim over $1 billion worth of tokens, the process was anything but smooth – mired by bugs, frustrations and scammers looking to take advantage of the chaos.
