Mr. Peter Wong, the most entertaining football pundit in Hong Kong, shared his views on fan tokens with Poloniex. Better known as “Peter the God” due to his not-too-accurate football predictions, he sent his blessings to a few national football teams again with his “golden mouth”, but this time, he carefully gave tips to football fans. So what happened this week?
BTC and ETH trade steadily though FTX contagion continues
While the crypto market is still digesting the FTX fallout, the two largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), traded steadily over the week. BTC is now trading at $16K by press time from below $15K at one point last week due to the fall of FTX. So far, BTC has avoided heavy losses even if FTX contagion is spreading in the crypto space. Meanwhile, the price of ETH is at $1,130 at the time of writing, which shows a bit of upward momentum compared with the last week’s data. As for the 24H gainers on Poloniex, they are FLOKI/USDT, FOAM/USDT, MVL/USDT, KUB/USDT, AVA/BTC, and TUSD/USDD.
Nike’s new Web3 Platform to drop Polygon-minted NFTs
The sports giant Nike launched a new Web3-themed website last Friday under the domain name: “ .SWOOSH” to enable customers to co-create the future of the company.
As sports and culture are evolving, Nike plans to launch “.SWOOSH”, the Web3-related community, which will act as a home for Nike’s virtual creations, such as sneakers, apparel, accessories, and other collectibles. Members can wear these items in games or other immersive experiences.
With the designated wallet provided by Bitgo, members will be able to sell or transfer virtual creations in the near future. Members will also be able meet and greet Nike athletes, designers, and fans through the platform. Although “. SWOOSH” is now open for registration, the platform is still in a closed beta phase.
Despite no specific launch date, Vogue Business reported that the first NFT drop would be in January 2023 and it’s believed that “.SWOOSH” will launch NFT items minted on Polygon ( MATIC). Nike’s latest move showed that the company is taking a further step into Web3 after the acquisition of RTFKT Studios, a digital fashion startup in December 2021.
Soon after the takeover, Nike launched a metaverse sneaker line called “RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks”. But Nike restated that RTFKT is a Web3 native luxury brand and community while “. SWOOSH” aims to gather the Web3-curious for educational and communal purposes.

Top five optimistic national fan tokens — Bitcoinist
Bitcoinist, a Bitcoin news portal, introduced five national fan tokens, including the Portugal National Football Team (POR) Token, the Argentine Football Association (ARG) Token, the Spain National Fan Token (SNFT), the Brazil National Team Fan Token (BFT), and the Peruvian National Football Team Fan Token (FPFT), that are worth noting because of their potential appreciations. Meanwhile, Dominic Coin (DMC) is the rising star in the fan token cohort according to the article, since the fan token is powered by TRON(TRX) with the endorsement of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica. To celebrate the World Cup with people around the globe, Poloniex listed ARG and POR with other fan tokens, which represent various football clubs. Click here to learn more.
