Weekly Market Recap

This week we saw the total crypto market cap decrease 1.8%, from $2.26T on Dec 10 to $2.22T at the time of writing.

Bitcoin (BTC) briefly traded above $50,000 on Dec 13 before falling to a weekly low of ~$46,000 on Dec 14. BTC currently trades at ~$47,873 as of writing.

During the same period, Ethereum (ETH) traded above $4,000 before falling to a weekly low of ~$3,680 on Dec 14. ETH currently trades at ~$3,962 as of writing.

1. Binance Announces Project Shield

As part of our ongoing commitment to user protection, Binance is collaborating with CertiK and PeckShield to audit around 150 project tokens by the end of the year. With the increasing influx of crypto users, it’s more important than ever to ensure crypto exchanges are listing healthy and legitimate projects.

2. The Importance of KYC for EEA and UK Users

KYC protocols ensure users enjoy a safe and secure crypto experience free of malicious individuals. Current and new Binance EEA and UK users will need to complete a new KYC flow by 2022. Users who complete the KYC flow will also receive a Binance NFT Mystery Box.
