Predictions that the Ethereum merge would be a “buy the rumor, sell the news” event have largely played out in the wake of the much-anticipated update to the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

2. South Korea asks Interpol to issue red notice for Do Kwon: FT

South Korean prosecutors have reportedly asked Interpol, an international organization that facilitates police cooperation and crime control between countries, to issue a red notice against Do Kwon. The Financial Times reported the news on Monday, stating that Kwon, the co-founder of crypto firm Terraform Labs, is allegedly refusing to co-operate with a probe into the $40 billion implosion of the tokens terraUSD and luna.

3. Green energy-focused blockchain wins $50 million investment from GEM Digital

GRNGrid, a renewable energy-focused Layer 1 blockchain, announced on Monday that it has secured a $50 million investment from Bahamas-based venture capital firm GEM Digital.

4. SEC Chair Gensler Raises Concerns Over ‘Staking’ Model on Ethereum

Crypto investors who have been celebrating this week’s overhaul of Ethereum’s blockchain may have to deal with an unwelcome guest at their party: US Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler. Gensler on Thursday signaled that a feature of the network’s software could lead to tokens being considered securities by the SEC.

5. SoftBank, Deutsche Telekom Back $300M Fund With Web3 Component

Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP), which started as the venture capital arm of German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom and now operates independently, has completed the first closing of its latest fund with $300 million in committed capital. The fund invests in tech-focused industries including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, fintech and Web3.‌
