Cryptotastic Maximus

This is a specialized swing strategy for Hero subscriptions designed to maximize profits by buying the extremes in price fluctuation while ensuring sells only take place while in profit.

Note: The following strategies are intended to be purchased together for the complete strategy:

- Cryptotastic Maximus Hold
- Cryptotastic Maximus Hold Trend

The conventional configuration for Cryptohopper is to choose between one of the following:

1) Sell by a strategy, which has the capability of using TA indicators to make intelligent decisions about when to sell
or
2) Sell at a fixed take profit percentage.

Cryptohopper does not currently directly facilitate selling by strategy while only in profit. This strategy addresses this limitation.

The overall strategy involves an orchestration of 4 different strategies, 2 Algorithm Intelligence configurations (AIs), and 2 triggers to effectively achieve selling by strategy while in profit.

How it works:
Step 1. The hopper first uses a "Cryptotastic Maximus" AI instance containing the "Cryptotastic Maximus" and "Cryptotastic Maximus Trend" strategies (registered as signal and trend strategies respectively) to buy a desired position with a configured minimum take profit percentage (e.g. 5%). This position will initially be unheld.
Step 2. Given the position will initially be opened while the trading pair is relatively oversold, a "[Coin Name] Hold" Trigger will fire which holds the position to keep it from selling upon immediately reaching the configured take profit percentage.
Step 3. The purchased positions go up in value, meeting or exceeding the configured take profit threshold.
Step 4. Upon reaching an overbought threshold, a "[Coin Name] Unhold" Trigger fires which first lowers the take-profit percentage and then unholds positions for the targeted coin, thus triggering the the hopper to sell all positions exceeding the configured take profit percentage.

NOTES
- While the Cryptohopper AI feature is used as a mechanism for signaling a downtrend, the fact that each AI uses only a single signal and trend strategy pair makes the actual score irrelevant, which is why the recommended setup specifies a relatively low corrected score.
- Due to the fact that Hero subscriptions have a limit of 10 triggers, a maximum of 5 coins can be used with this strategy.
- The elaborate orchestration of this strategy is only necessary until such time as the Cryptohopper platform adds capabilities to constrain the existing sell by strategy feature to positions in profit. Make your voice heard for this much needed feature!
- While this strategy was designed to be used in this overall "sell by strategy only in profit" approach, it is suitable for use in a full-on bull market as a standalone strategy using either sell by strategy or sell by take profit threshold (you just wouldn't get the added protection of never selling a negative position).
- The primary purpose of setting a relatively high take-profit percentage with this strategy is to prevent premature selling of positions which rise in price faster than the hold strategy can trigger holding a position. For example, a position is opened with a take profit of 1% initially unhelded. Prior to the triggers being evaluated, the position exceeds 1% profit which triggers a sell of the position, though the position may have achieved 5% profit if held until the AI strategy signaled to unhold the position.
- As with all strategies, due to the fact that many conditions affect the level of success any given strategy will have (current market, selected coins, exchange, Cryptohopper tier, etc.), you should test selected strategies to see how they will perform in any given scenario.
- Due to the fact that this strategy relies upon triggers to guard against selling at a loss, this strategy is not suitable for testing with the Cryptohopper backtesting feature as it isn't capable of detecting sells blocked due to holding positions. Testing specific markets should be performed using a paper bot.
