Cryptohopper MCP
The Cryptohopper MCP server gives AI assistants live and historical crypto market data: candles, tickers, orderbooks and market details from the exchanges Cryptohopper supports. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other client that speaks the Model Context Protocol.

Connect your AI client
Claude and ChatGPT sign in with OAuth. Add a custom connector with the server URL above and approve access with your Cryptohopper account. You do not need an API key.
Claude Code, Cursor and other clients send an API key in the Authorization header. Replace mcp_your_api_key with your own key.
claude mcp add --transport http cryptohopper-market-data \

}API keys
Create a key in your Cryptohopper account: open Edit profile and go to the MCP API Keys tab. Keys start with mcp_ and are shown only once, so store yours right away. The same tab shows your current plan limits and lets you revoke a key.
Send the key as Authorization: Bearer mcp_.... All keys of one account share the same rate limits.
Tools
All tools are read-only. Pairs are given as base and quote (for example BTC and USDT) and exchanges by their lowercase name (for example binance). Times are ISO 8601 or Unix milliseconds.

Plans and limits
Your MCP allowance follows your Cryptohopper subscription.
| Plan | Requests per minute | Weekly budget | History | API keys | Exchanges |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| No subscription (free) | 15 | 6,000 | None | 1 | 3 |
| Explorer | 60 | 30,000 | 90 days | 1 | 8 |
| Adventurer | 200 | 150,000 | 365 days | 3 | All |
| Hero | 600 | 1,250,000 | 3 years | 10 | All |
The weekly budget resets every Friday at 00:00 UTC. Historical queries use more of the budget than requests for the latest data. Responses carry X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset headers, and a 429 response carries Retry-After. Ask your assistant to call get_usage to see where you stand.
Questions
Is the Cryptohopper MCP free?
Yes. Every Cryptohopper account can use it: without a subscription you get 6,000 requests per week for 3 exchanges, without historical data. Explorer, Adventurer and Hero raise the limits and add history.
Can my AI agent place trades through the MCP?
No. The MCP server is read-only: it serves market data and never touches your bots, orders or exchange keys. To manage hoppers and orders from code, use the Cryptohopper REST API.
Which exchanges are supported?
Binance, Binance US, Bybit, Coinbase, Crypto.com, KuCoin, Kraken, Bitmart, OKX, HTX, Bitvavo, BingX and Poloniex. Ask your assistant to call list_exchanges for the live list.
Does it include futures data?
No. The MCP serves spot markets only, at a minimum resolution of 1 minute.
