This incident dates back to April this year when the decentralized autonomous organization Own the Doge purchased the image rights associated with the Dogecoin prototype, Kabosu. John Monarch, the project lead of Own The Doge, mentioned that with clearer ownership of the Dogecoin image rights, opportunities for collaborations with major brands have significantly increased. An early buyer at a certain address profited immensely from Neiro, turning an initial investment of $80,000 into $1.93 million, achieving a staggering return of 2397%. Analysis shows their accumulation strategy can be divided into two phases: 1) Buying 70.8 million tokens for 15.089 SOL (approximately $0.00003914 per token) within a minute of Neiro’s launch and gradually selling off the initial position over six hours. 2) Re-entering the market when the market cap reached $79 million, spending 420.75 SOL to purchase 983,500 tokens at an average price of $0.07916 per token, then selling all within an hour. According to on-chain analyst Ai Yi’s monitoring, this address had previously engaged in meme trading akin to “buying lottery tickets” over a month (including prior hotspots like Laser Eyes) with a success rate of only 31.25%, suggesting it likely wasn’t insider trading.
The deployer of Neiro profited handsomely as well, using just 3 SOL ($552) to earn 15,508 SOL ($2.85 million), a staggering return of 5169 times their initial investment. Initially purchasing 97.5 million Neiro tokens for 3 SOL ($552), they subsequently sold 68 million tokens across multiple wallets for 15,511 SOL ($2.85 million) in total profit. They also transferred 10 million Neiro to another wallet, retaining 19.5 million Neiro ($1.8 million) yet to be cashed out, representing unrealized gains of $1.8 million.
According to Bubblemaps analysis, the developer of Solana meme coin NEIRO has earned $3.3 million so far, owning 6% of NEIRO’s supply after purchasing tokens from various addresses. Despite subsequent denials by the project team, who claimed the disclosure was inaccurate and developers only hold 1.6% of the supply with no plans for imminent sale, their explanation appeared unconvincing. The project’s official Twitter account later appeared to be banned by X platform, allegedly due to violations.
