For those of you who are new to Bybit, WSOT is our biggest and most exciting trading competition! Teamwork is the name of the game in Bybit’s WSOT, as you can form teams of 200 or more traders from around the globe. The path to victory is simple — the higher your trading volume, the greater your chance of winning as an individual and as a team.

We’re not going to spoil the surprise, but we’ll let you in on a little secret — the prize pool is worth up to a whopping $8 million! Think attractive rewards, daily lotteries, NFTs — and so much more!

Excited? So are we! For starters, we’re launching a five-part WSOT Warm-Up Series where we gather some of our Bybit Affiliates to share useful tips on how to win big at the upcoming WSOT!

To start off this series, let’s hear from the champion of WSOT 2021 — Ahn Si-hu!

Hi Si-hu, could you give us a quick introduction?

Hi! My name is Ahn Si-hu. I am the WSOT 2021 champion, and also the winner of Bybit’s 2020 individual trading competition. I mainly trade and make profit by analyzing charts. I also share my techniques on my YouTube channel, Maeuknam, for free. You can visit my channel to see how I read charts in real time.

What was WSOT 2021 like for you as a Troop Leader?

Personally, WSOT 2021 is special to me, as my team won first place. It’s also what I had considered to be the last trading competition in my life due to my health issues. Ever since I started crypto trading in 2008, I’ve been trading every single day, and barely sleeping. After I began to participate in trading competitions, my health got worse.

Despite it all, I think I’ve brought my trading competition stint to a successful conclusion. During the WSOT competition, I shared chart analyses and buy/sell positions with my team members through our secret broadcast channel every other day. It was exciting to see Bitcoin move as I predicted, raising the overall team profit rate. On the other hand, I felt a huge responsibility, as my members were relying on me.

What would you recommend to general users who want to be Troop Leaders?

Besides trading skills, I strongly believe that a Troop Leader’s ability to lead and encourage the entire team during the competition period is critical, especially in the midst of constant profit fluctuation.

On the social media front, I didn’t put in extra effort, but I guess many people wanted to join my team because of my victory in the Bybit individual trading competition 2020 with a 12,300% profit. I did, however, set up a Telegram group chat during the competition period.

My strategy was to claim first position on the leaderboard closer toward the end of the competition. In order to ensure victory, it was crucial to maintain a comfortable distance from the team in the second position for the last three to four days.

Are you looking forward to WSOT 2022?

I was already considering WSOT 2021 to be my retirement game, but the news of WSOT 2022 has gotten me excited. I haven’t decided whether to participate, but I hope more people will join this year and cultivate their trading skills.

What would you like to see continue into WSOT 2022?

For 2022, I would love to see the NFT distribution according to performance. Perhaps giving away higher quality NFTs would make it perfect.

What are some tips you can share with our users for WSOT 2022?

Be wary of being too greedy and messing up from the start. Just keep your pace, trade stably, and I believe you’ll have good results.

How competitive are you expecting WSOT 2022 to get?

As far as I know, around 34,000 people participated last year. I guess there may be slightly fewer this year due to the current bear market conditions.

How will you approach WSOT 2022 differently?

Though I’m not sure what the competition rules of WSOT 2022 are, I'd recommend growing your gains trading Bitcoin rather than seeking high profit with altcoins. Those high-risk, high-return strategies or pairs might look attractive at first, but in most cases, they lead to self-destruction. I’ll also be keeping a lookout for insurance-related coins this year.

Thank you Si-hu. We hope to see you in the competition this year!

After hearing from our five Bybit Affiliates, we know you can’t wait for WSOT — us too! So go forth, gather your teams, brandish your trading swords, and get ready for an exciting month in June!
