# Update your social profile

`PATCH https://api.cryptohopper.com/v1/social/profile/{id}`

Updates the name, alias, bio, location and links of your own social profile and returns the updated profile. Fields you leave out keep their current value; an empty value clears the field.

OAuth scope: `manage`

Other accepted fields: facebook, telegram and tradingview. name and alias are limited to 120 characters, description and location to 255. The alias may only contain lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, must be longer than 2 characters, cannot be fully numeric and cannot be removed once set. Text with profanity is rejected. A taken alias returns 409.

Status codes: 200. Errors return JSON with `status`, `error` and `message`, plus a numeric `code` when the error comes from the API itself rather than the gateway.
