# Check base currency

`GET https://api.cryptohopper.com/v1/exchange/{exchange}/basecurrencies/{base_currency}`

Returns the currencies you can trade against one quote currency on an exchange. Returns 404 when the exchange has no markets in that quote currency.

No access token needed.

## Path parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description |

| `exchange` | string | yes | Exchange key as returned by Get available exchanges, for example binance or kucoin. Case insensitive. |
| `base_currency` | string | yes | Quote currency code, for example USDT. Case insensitive. |

Status codes: 200. Errors return JSON with `status`, `error` and `message`, plus a numeric `code` when the error comes from the API itself rather than the gateway.
