# Check whether your device is authorized

`GET https://api.cryptohopper.com/v1/device/check`

Part of [Devices](https://www.cryptohopper.com/api-documentation/api-reference/devices.md) in the Cryptohopper API reference.

For the Cryptohopper mobile apps, checks that the device in the deviceId header exists and is authorized. For any other app it always returns ok.

The handler checks no OAuth scope. Returns 404 Device not found or 402 Device not authorized when the check fails.

## Headers

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `client_id` | string | no | Not read by the handler. |
| `access-token` | string | no | The OAuth access token of the user. |

## Example request

```bash
curl "https://api.cryptohopper.com/v1/device/check" \
  -H "access-token: YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN"
```

## Response

Example response (illustrative values):

```json
{
    "data": "ok"
}
```

Status codes: 200. Errors return JSON with `status`, `error` and `message`, plus a numeric `code` when the error comes from the API itself rather than the gateway.
